You might have seen this when I posted it a while back. I'm only posting it again because it's a better bit rate -- high VBR, around 250 kbps. Oh wait, also, this is one of my favorite records of the year. Nick Reinhart (of Tera Melos) and Zach Hill (of Hella and fucking everything) present something ridiculous and mathy and poppy and heavy in a way that only they could pull off. Whatever man, you probably either already have this or you're not interested. If you're neither of those, the whole album is streaming on Myspace and Bandcamp. Check it out, and then BUY IT!

By The End of Tonight/Tera Melos - Complex Full of Phantoms (2007)

Inspired by Patrick's post. Two great bands together for one great split.

EDIT: Had to use Megaupload as Mediafire was being lame. I will try again on mediafire in a few days or something.

Mouth of the Architect - The Ties That Blind (2006)

These guys toured with These Arms Are Snakes to support this album. It features Brent Hinds of Mastodon to do vocals on a track and the bass riffs of Brian Cook of Botch, Russian Circles, and These Arms Are Snakes. It's some pretty good sludge. Their wiki claims them to be influenced by Pelican, Cult of Luna, Isis, and Neurosis.

Expedicion a las Estrellas - 72

Have you ever wondered what would happen if someone was a huge fan of both post-rock and extreme death metal and decided that he would get his like-minded buddies together and make a band? Well, I have, and then I found these guys, and they answered all my questions. They are from Mexico, so their vocals are in spanish, which I find to be very interesting. With their list of influences including the likes of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, A Silver Mt. Zion, Dredg, The Black Dahlia Murder, Through The Eyes of The Dead, and At The Gates, it would be hard to go wrong with these dudes. So, I bring you their EP "72". Their full length, titled "27", will be coming my way whenever they get it finished. I will gladly share it. These dudes love writing music and want nothing but for it to be heard.
