After hearing the song "Voices Are Your Best Friend" on the (excellent) "See You On The Moon! Songs For Kids Of All Ages" compilation, I spent quite a while searching for more of their quirky music. Thankfully, the full-length has all of the same quirk, plus plenty of funk and psychedelia, and there's some odd minimalism influence as well.
The closest comparison I draw is Sung Tongs era Animal Collective.
